Yael Stein, who is Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 was the character Lorna Morrello on Orange Is the New Black. Yael holds a master's diploma from NIDA. Yael had the privilege to be able from an early stage to be a part of Australia's premier storytellers and performers along with creative directors within the TV, film and theatre industries. Yael is well-known as an actor throughout Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael relocated from Australia to New York City after the Brooklyn Academy of the Music's production of the play was an enormous successful. Yael is the co-founder the company The Cannery. The Cannery promotes creative creativity, writing and artistic endeavors through the Bushwick studio.
